This means that 52 athletes will be presented with the Hongqi H9 luxury limousine.

The Hongqi H9 mid-size luxury sedan is the brands first model to be launched into the global market.
It is designed to compete with models like the Rolls-Royce Ghost, Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8 and the BMW 7-Series.

The just concluded 2020 Tokyo Olympics saw the United States (U.S.) and China picked the most gold medals of any other country, with the two going home with 39 and 38 gold medals respectively.

Now, China FAW’s luxury car brand, Hongqi, has announced that it will present an “H9” luxury sedan to all Chinese athletes who won gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

According to Hongqi, the cars were awarded to the athletes as “a sign of gratitude for having fluttered the red flag as many times as the number of gold medals”.

In all, 52 athletes will be presented with the Limousine as these are the number of people who won 38 gold medals in 14 competitions for China.

This brings the total cost of the gifts to $2,967,164, as the highest available trim level of the Hongqi H9 2.0T costs $57,061 in China.

But other Chinese medalists won’t be left out as all 32 silver and 18 bronze medalists will also get a right to use a Hongqi H9 for free. This offer will probably allow them to Test-drive the luxury vehicles.

The H9 mid-size luxury sedan is the first Hongqi to be launched into the global market. It is specially designed to compete with models like the Rolls-Royce Ghost, Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8 and the BMW 7-Series.

The impressive Hongqi H9 is currently available in sedan and a stretch limousine version. It looks more like a mix of other models, including the dual-tone paintjob on Bentley and hints from Rolls-Royce cars.

Its design is credited to Giles Taylor, the current Global Vice President of Design and Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of the FAW Group. Giles, the former Rolls-Royce design boss, designed the latest Rolls-Royce Phantom 8.

Up front, the H9 has a large chrome radiator grille and an “illuminating” thin red Hongqi’s flag logo that starts from the middle of the bonnet to the grille.

Inside, it features full LCD instrument clusters, large center console screen, 12-inch head-up display (HUD) and video-streaming rearview mirror.

It also features touch-sensitive switchgear and an optional four-seat layout. Options include displays for the rear passengers and a panoramic glass roof.

Two powertrains are available for the Hongqi H9. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is able to pump out 180 kw and 380 N·m of torque peak. The 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine will churn out 200 kw and 400 N·m of torque peak
